What is a medical peel?   A peel is a three step process which includes deep cleansing, application of a mild acid which gently exfoliates the micro-thin top layer of the skin and a gentle moisturizing mask to re-hudrate the skin.  Environmental  exposure and skin conditions can damage the skin, obscuring clarity, tone, color and texture.  A peel can correct this damage.*  A chemical peel can be done on the face, neck or hands.  A chemical peel can reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, improve the appearance of mild scars, treat certain kinds of acne, reduce age spots and of course improve the look and feel of the skin.*  Skin sags and severe wrinkles may need other kinds of cosmetic intervention such as laser resurfacing, facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and/or filler.  For more information or to schedule your peel, please call our office (561)743-0244.

Current Special: 3 Medical Peels and 2 Skin Care products for $855.  This is a savings of $200.

Glycolic Acid Peel

Glycolic Acid is carefully applied to the skin and it chemically exfoliates and encourages new cell turnover. This treatment is relatively non-irritating with little down time.

Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that exerts specific effects on the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin. At the epidermal level the acid works at the level of stratum granulosum by dissolving the "sticky" dead skin cells allowing them to shed. At the dermal level histology shows that there is an increase in the deposition of collagen and glycoaminoglycans, thus leading to a thickening of the dermis. This increase in volume may create a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.

Benefits of a glycolic acid peel are

*Reduction of hyperpigmentation

*Evening out skin tone

*Smoothing fine lines and wrinkles

Lactic Acid Peel

Lactic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid or milk acid. When Lactic Acid is applied to the skin, it chemically exfoliates the outer layer of the skin and encourages new cell turnover by loosening the cells of the stratum granulosum and allowing them to slough off. Repeated use increases dermal thickness, reducing wrinkles and scars by depositing collagen in the dermis. If you have slightly sensitive and dry skin, this might be a peel to start with.

It is a natural humectant, pulling moisture from the collagen levels to the surface of the skin. It has a "plumping" effect, particularly on dry and dehydrated skin.

Benefits of a lactic acid peel are:

*Clear out dead cells and debris

*Boost collagen production

*Reducing pore appearance

Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid. It is a powerful exfoliant that improves the appearance of aging skin. In addition to exfoliating the cells of the outer layers of skin, it has also been shown to exfoliate the cells of the interior of skin pores.

Salicylic acid provides powerful exfoliation due to the high lipid (oil) solubility. It concentrates exfoliation on the lipid-rich outer layers of the skin where the rate of exfoliation reduces with aging, thus causing a buildup of dull, dry skin. A Salicylic Acid Peel is beneficial for sun damaged, dull and uneven skin as well as acne-prone or oily skin.

Benefits of a Salicylic Acid Peel:

*Targets blemishes and bumps

*Minimize and unclogs enlarged pores

*Works on skin's surface and inside pores

Mandelic Acid Peel

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid made from bitter almonds. When applied to the skin, it chemically exfoliates the outer surface of the skin and encourages new cell turnover. This treatment is relatively non-irritating with little down time. This treatment is perfect for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin.

Benefits of a Mandelic Acid Peel:

*Gentle on the skin

*Accelerates cell turnover

*Promotes collage production
